Renal Healthcare
and Support Network
Our History
Kaduna, Nigeria – Founded in 2024
The Renal Healthcare and Support Network (RHSN) was founded in 2024 in Kaduna, Nigeria—a city known for its vibrant culture and resilient spirit. The organization was born out of an urgent need to address the growing prevalence of kidney disease across Nigeria, especially among underserved and vulnerable populations.
It began with a simple mission: to save lives and restore dignity to individuals and families affected by kidney-related conditions. From humble beginnings, with a small team of medical professionals, advocates, caregivers, and volunteers, RHSN set out to create a movement—a network of support, hope, and awareness that would ripple across communities.
Our first activities were grassroots campaigns—raising awareness in local schools, marketplaces, and community centers. We collaborated with healthcare workers and family members who had witnessed the devastating impact of kidney failure firsthand. These early efforts laid the foundation for what would become a nationwide initiative for education, prevention, and compassionate care.
Since then, RHSN has grown into a trusted voice in the renal health space—providing critical resources, supporting patients through treatment journeys, advocating for accessible dialysis, and promoting healthy kidney lifestyles. Every project, every seminar, every screening event is powered by a deep commitment to change lives and bridge the gaps in renal healthcare in Nigeria.
What We Do
At RHSN, our work is rooted in practical support, advocacy, and education for kidney health. Our core initiatives include:
Awareness Campaigns
We organize community outreaches, school programs, and media initiatives to educate the public about kidney health, early detection, and prevention.
Dialysis Support and Patient Care
We assist kidney patients by providing information on affordable dialysis options, connecting them to care centers, and supporting them through the treatment process.
Advocacy and Policy Engagement
We engage with government agencies, hospitals, and health-focused organizations to push for better healthcare infrastructure, subsidized treatment, and national kidney care policies.
Nutritional Guidance
We educate patients on kidney-friendly diets through tailored programs that address local food realities and medical needs.
What We Believe
RHSN is powered by a set of beliefs that shape our purpose and actions:
Everyone Deserves a Second Chance
We believe kidney patients are not statistics—they are people with dreams, families, and futures worth fighting for.
Early Detection Saves Lives
We are committed to spreading knowledge and breaking the silence around kidney disease, so that more lives can be saved before it's too late.
Healthcare Should Be Accessible to All
Whether rich or poor, urban or rural, every Nigerian deserves access to affordable, quality kidney care.
Empathy is a Lifeline
Compassion and community support are essential parts of healing—not just the medicine.
Our Core Values
These are the principles that guide everything we do:
Humanity
We recognize the inherent dignity and worth of every person, treating each individual with respect and kindness regardless of their circumstances.
Compassion
We lead with kindness, care, and a deep understanding of the emotional struggles of kidney patients and their loved ones.
Trust & Transparency
We operate with honesty, openness, and accountability in everything we do, building trust with patients, partners, and communities.
Innovation
We continuously seek creative solutions and new approaches to improve kidney care and patient support in Nigeria.
Teamwork & Collaboration
We believe in partnerships—with families, hospitals, professionals, and government—to amplify our impact and achieve our mission together.
Health
We are committed to promoting holistic well-being, focusing on prevention, treatment, and quality of life for those affected by kidney disease.
Equity
We fight for a healthcare system where access is not determined by wealth, background, or geography, ensuring fair treatment for all.
Looking Ahead
From Kaduna to the rest of Nigeria, RHSN is committed to expanding its reach, scaling its programs, and pushing for a national agenda that prioritizes renal health. Our mission is clear: to reduce kidney-related deaths, support families in crisis, and create a system where hope is not a luxury—it's a right.
Together, we are rewriting the story of kidney health in Nigeria.
